Atletico Madrid super skipper, Enrique Collar, dies at 91

Atletico Madrid on Monday midnight  announced the passing away of their  club legend Enrique Collar age  91,  Collar who captained the team winning a league title and three cup successes in the 1960s.

“The red, white, and blue family loses a  star symbol who gave his best in taking Atletico Madrid to the pinnacle of national and continental football seen today,” the club said in a statement with bettingvoice.

The  club’s longest-serving skipper who scored 105 goals in 470 appearances for Atletico between 1953 and 1969 and also captained the team for 10 years in the 1960s.

He was on the scoresheet that never stopped scoring for his team   when meeting eternal rivals Real Madrid at the Bernabeu in the 1960 cup final, before winning further cups in 1961 and 1965.

His leadership in the club also saw the Spanish capital’s less fashionable team claim the 1965/66 league title in a decade where Real dominated the top flight.

Collar had a lot of wins and trophies,  winning  the 1962 European Cup Winners’ Cup and earned 16 caps for Spain, playing at the 1962 World Cup in Chile. He stopped playing international games in 1970 after a season at Valencia.
